Author’s note: The Festivities of Morkwood started out as an (almost) daily writing exercise in December 2020 to turn my pandemic-induced writing slump around. I was proud of it, and lots of people seemed to enjoy it, so I have since edited, polished and beefed up the story, which you can now get on Amazon. If you fancy reading the original version (imperfect and mildly inconsistent as it may be), keep on scrolling.

You probably haven’t heard of a village called Morkwood.
It’s unlikely you would have travelled near it, let alone through it. And you most certainly haven’t visited – Morkwood sits in the corner of nowhere, unassuming and quiet.
Until December, that is.
Every day in the lead up to Christmas, all the villagers of Morkwood come together to open the doors of the Advent House. It’s an important celebration, but there is a sinister side to this annual tradition…
There is fear in the night for those who scorn,
The festivities of Morkwood.
