Fred clapped harder than anyone else in the audience at his granddaughter’s theatre performance, although it was a shame his hearing aid had broken before the show.
His wife must have put in the wrong batteries.
Still, he had plenty of time to see the play again – the Virginia Monologues was running for another two weeks.
